WANT to make your perfume last all day? Then savvy beauty lovers have found a new 1p hack to solve the issue.
There’s nothing worse than forking out a fortune for your favourite perfume only to find out the scent has disappeared within 30 minutes of application.
But whilst many have praised Vaseline as the solution for this, there’s now a new trend taking TikTok and the beauty industry by storm – and it costs just 1p per use.
Instead of using the popular £2 drugstore product, money-saving shoppers have been raving about their make-up primers. Yes, you read that right.
”Best advice I’ve heard recently is to put primer before spraying your perfume,” she told fellow beauty enthusiasts in her video.
The make-up lover, who posts under the username @lilly.eveee, added that this was the ultimate solution ”if you want your perfume to stay all day”.
Posted on social media just two days ago, the video has already taken the internet by storm, racking up over 330k views and dozens of comments.
One thanked the blonde whizz, writing: ”You’re a genius.”
Another couldn’t wait to give the hack a go, commenting: ”Gonna try this.”
Someone else chimed in: ”Wait, you might be on to something…”
”Vaseline also works the same way, ladies!” a beauty lover penned.
However, although basic Vaseline is used for many purposes across the world, a perfume expert recently explained why the £2 lip essential won’t do anything to make you smell better.
Josephine aka Jus de Rose, who trained with the masters at ISIPCA, France’s premier school of perfumery founded by Guerlain in 1970, warned others to not bother with the viral hack.
”Despite what everyone says, don’t use Vaseline. It is no good because it’s made of petroleum jelly which smells like oil and gas.”
Instead, she suggested applying “non-scented body lotion to clean dry skin.”
”You can also use scented body lotion if you’re comfortable with the layering.
“Or you can apply the same scent as the fragrance you’ll be wearing.”
Whichever of the two you prefer, the next step is to spray the perfume over the body lotion, she instructed her followers.
“And there you have it. Your fragrance will last all day.”
